FROSTED CHOCOLATE BROWNIES: I have never enjoyed any Frosted Chocolate Brownies more than these. I figure if I’m going to have something sweet, it needs to be worth it. Having the frosting is the crowning touch to an already delicious recipe!
1 cup sugar
1 stick butter (8 tablespoons)
1 cup plus 1 tablespoon flour
1 16 ounce can of chocolate syrup
Preheat the oven to 350. Cream sugar and butter together in your mixing bowl until thoroughly combined. Add the eggs, flour, and chocolate syrup. Mix well and pour the mixture into a well-greased and floured 9 x 13 cake pan. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes. When you take the brownies out of the oven, immediately prepare the frosting. As soon as the frosting is ready, frost the brownies – before they cool.
6 tablespoons butter (3/4 of a stick)
6 tablespoons milk
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 cup chocolate chips
In the pan, mix the butter, milk, and sugar. Bring to a boil on the stove and continue to boil for 30 seconds. Then remove the pan from the heat. Add chocolate chips and stir until the chocolate chips are melted and the frosting is smooth. While the brownies are still warm, pour the frosting over the top and spread evenly. Allow the brownies to cool and the frosting to set before serving.
It is possible to serve the brownies while still warm, but if the frosting doesn’t have a chance to set, it won’t stay in place on the brownies. If they are cool, the brownies can be eaten by hand. If you serve them while still warm from baking, you may need a plate and fork to avoid accidents. If you wish to eat the brownies while they are warm, I suggest you let the brownies cool first and let the frosting set. Cut them and heat only the ones you plan to eat. Do not overheat or the frosting may become runny again.
